According to Robin, Fred's wife/Sam's mom was born in Australia so Sam can get a passport and qualify for the NBL as a domestic player which would open up a ton of opportunities for him down under.

That’s awesome. They probably had restrictions on international players there. I’ve been to a couple VBA games (Vietnam Basketball Association) and the rules then were 1 international player per team (it’s since changed to two per team and one heritage player, which would be an overseas Vietnamese). They’d just find the tallest guy they could to be their international player. So funny watching some former d3 college backup PF/C putting the moves on Vietnam’s best. Sam would ball out there and be taller than quite a few of the competition.

Yeah Australia is 2 foreign born players. Really solid league and if he doesn't want to toil in the G League a great option
