Fantasy Coaching Carousel

[Fargo Husker]

A college football podcast I listen to was doing this and I thought it would be a fun thing to try on the board.

1) Predict 4 other P4 schools that will have head coaching openings this cycle.

2) Add those 4 schools to the list of the 9 current P4 openings (Stanford, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Penn State, Florida, LSU, Auburn) and fill out your board with your predictions for which coaches will take those jobs.

3) Points will be scored as followed:

• 100 points for correctly guessing a P4 job that comes open.
• 100 points for correctly guessing a coach who takes ANY new P4 job.
• 250 points for correctly matching a coach to their new school.

No money involved. Just the chance to prove you’re the greatest coaching carousel mind in all of tPB. If you’re interested in participating, make your prediction post ITT before midnight this coming Saturday (Nov 15).

Ok, I’m gonna play along cause this could be interesting and why not? But it’s gonna take me a minute. This is like trying to pick a perfect NCAA bracket before you even know who’s in the tournament. Not easy, err I mean impossible.

Edit:

4 new teams: FSU, Clemson, Cockeye and Colorado.

1. Auburn: Hires away Dabo away from Clempson. (Stole that one from @djw004)

2. Clempson: They strike out going after Clark Lea, end with Alex Golesh from USF.

3. Colorado: Amputoes Prime declares medical retirement. Get his full contractual buyout. Calls some people racist on the way out. Colorado hires Dan Mullen from UNLV. Actually a pretty decent hire for them.

4. Cockeye: Kuck Ferntz retires. We all hope they hire Corch Prime. But ultimately Kuck commands the appointment of Phil Parker.

5. Penn State: They strike out all the big fish. Forced to make a choice between Joe Brady and Brian Bartline they ultimately choose Brady.

6. LSU: Strike out with Lane. Seriously considers running it back with Ed Orgeron. But cooler heads prevail and they hire Jon Sumrall from Tulane.

7. Florida: Fuck, this one is tough. They strike out with Lane as well. Ultimately go with Ryan Silverfield from Memphis.

8. Arkansas: 🤷‍♂️ They snag Eric Morris from North Texas. Good hire IMO.

9. Oklahoma St: They open up the pockets and convince Kliff Kingsbury back to the BigXII. I have no idea if this is a good hire or not.

10. UCLA: I guess they hire Draco Malfoy. AKA Jerry Neuheisel.

11. VaTech: They scoop up James Franklin and Penn State will regret letting this become a possibility.

12. Stanford: Pat Fitzgerald I guess. IDK why, good fit I guess. 🤷‍♂️

13: FSU: Lastly… here we are with those loud mouth losers. Literally every prediction and prognostication from their fans and alike couldn’t have been more delusional and flat out WRONG. These dumbasses will get exactly what they deserve. After striking out with anyone and everyone they end up promoting Gus Malzanh and fire him 2 years later. 🤣

I got to say Fitz at Stanford would make a lot of sense, can recruit around the admissions just like he did at NW

Florida - Jed Fisch. There's a lot of smoke about his family getting Seattle and he went to school at Florida just to have a chance to work for Spurrier

Auburn - Pat Fitzgerald. They strike out on a couple of higher profile targets and get Fitz working on a lower salary

UCLA - Sean Lewis. I don't see them going the coordinator route again

LSU - there's no precedent for a top 5 job turning this toxic in such a short time. They are going to end up throwing a shitload of money at a really questionable hire, and good willing, doing it all over 3 years from now

LSU -- Frank Wilson. Stable hand to stable the ship
Florida -- Drinkwitz
Arkansas -- Dan Mullen. no clue here..
Oklahoma State -- Eric Morris.. North Texas coach. Think he fits.
UCLA -- Jonathan Smith.. the shocker. Smith gets the fuck out of Lansing
VA Tech - Franklin
Stanford -- Fisch wanted UCLA job but Smith took it. He takes the next best job on the West Coast
