So the restaurant owner that I worked for in high school is getting up in age, he's got arthritis really bad, he drinks a ton of beer, or at least used to, but docs told him to cut back because of the drugs they put him on for his arthritis, he doesn't think they work worth a fuck. So he ordered some edibles from Colorado. They came in, he ate the whole bag.....

There’s a place in Anchorage that makes dark chocolate bars. I’ve bought them before at the pot shop across from Freddie’s in Dimond. A piece or two off that bar and I sleep like a rock.

The nice thing about edibles is they, for the most part, are pretty consistent. 10mg is a bit intense during the peak for me, but after that it’s gravy for a few hours. I smoke or use edibles of varying strength every night. Helps with sleep and general aches.

Yeah, that's pretty much what happened. My mother told me he just passed the fuck out. He used to get rocking drunk at the restaurant and try to cook. Inevitably, he'd fuck up the order and stumble over to me and tell me to fix it. But he's a pretty cool old dude. Vietnam vet who would tell all sorts of stories. He'd ask me as a freshman in high school who I thought would win on some NFL games. I guess I must have given him solid advice every now and then, he'd come up to me and give me $50 bucks for "good advice."
