New Commit Dylan Berymon N

I'm not quite as certain - I don't know enough about his academic situation to know if he had a hard time getting admissions offices to accept him (TX and FL are good schools) or if this is a NCAA qualification issue. If it's the latter, do we know if there is a chance it is fixable by fall? A lot of schools wouldn't take a chance on that even if there was a 50% chance of qualifying.
We arent most schools, we are desperate

Nebraska's admissions office has nothing to do with this kid being eligible to play or not as a freshman. Also, if a kid can't gain admission into Nebraska its because he's functionally ruhtarded.
Maybe, but I do know that our admission office has in fact cost us recruits in the past. I do agree the standards to get into Nebraska are minimal

Hey, it doesn’t suck.

Whether or not he sits out a year or not, this is a really good pick up for NU football defensive line. It is the highest ranked defensive linemen Nebraska has recruited out of HS since Ty Robinson (and is higher ranked than Ty).

I guess on the academic side, I don't know of the academic question that is raised. In the past I know that Texas didn't bring players in on visits or allow them to commit if they were academically unlikely to qualify. In Berymon's case he was allowed to do both.

The many turns in Dylan Berymon’s recruitment

Multiple programs were leading the way for four-star defensive lineman Dylan Berymon over the past 12 months. USC and then Purdue had momentum before Berymon committed to Texas in June. After logging three visits to Ole Miss, Berymon and the Horns went in different directions in November. LSU circled back on the in-state DL, but elected not to push forward after Lane Kiffin landed in Baton Rouge.

Nebraska and Kentucky emerged at the top for Berymon in January and both programs hosted him for official visits. Oklahoma State also efforted late. The Huskers and Wildcats went back and forth into the eve of National Signing Day in February. Multiple sources viewed Kentucky as a threat until about midnight before signing — with Matt Rhule and some late NIL reinforcements as the late catalyst to push the Huskers over the finish line. – Spiegelman

Let this be a lesson

Nobody. not even Kentucky, beats Matt Rhule at midnight 5x in a row!
