I was told Barthel stinks and can’t recruit - how should I process this new information that he led the recruitment of a 4* OT we landed over Auburn?
I got no insider knowledge and nothing against Barthel, but we haven't had a good RB in like a decade. EJ needs to produce this year (I think he will), otherwise we need a new RB coach IMO.

Was he pissed about the ESPN article today saying we "whiffed" on June recruiting?

I saw that and thought it was a little harsh. Especially since the month wasn't over yet when it was written

And it’s June. Of ‘25.

I’ll be the first to say Callahan, Pelini and to a lesser extent Riley rode the coattails of former Nebraska success in the media, polls, etc, but that flipped a while ago. Now rather than unwarranted optimism we’re getting unwarranted pessimism.

Circle of life?

Seems he's going the way of recruiting talented OL to open up lanes that an average running back can run through.
