Already out for his entire rookie year with a foot injury. Exhibit A on why I think the average sports fan could be a GM for a sports franchise. Everyone and their dog knew this guys was going to be an injury risk based on looking like an Ethiopian, yet OKC drafts him anyway. Chet meet Greg Oden and Zion Williamson.

It may be a good thing for Holmgren. He can sit out a year and put on the weight he needs to.

I don't think he's ever going to put much weight on. A little as he matures, sure, but his frame and build are not the type to put a whole lot of lbs on.

Zion was an All Star his second year averaging 27/7/4. You can't put 20 year old Chet and 22 year old Zion in the same category as Greg Oden this early unless you're ignorant enough

I'll bump this post in 5 years. Holmgren will be injured his whole career, and Zion has played 1 season out of 3.

I can see how Chet's slight frame contributed to him getting a lisfranc injury.

Lol
The musculoskeletal system is the musculoskeletal system. I doubt the bones is his feet are somehow stronger/sturdier than the rest of his body. He looks like a concentration camp survivor...he's an injury waiting to happen.

NBA is all about the dimensional freaks. I think next year or the year after is another skinny fucker who is a 7fter with a giant wingspan but shoots & dribbles like a guard so Adam Silver has a boner

Nice, so you're going to bump this at an actual reasonable time to have a discussion about it after making the thread when one of them hasn't debuted and the other was an All Star averaging 27 in 20-21, sounds good boss 🤣

I hated the Holmgren pick as a Thunder fan .. you can't be a tall beanpole, play in the paint with the NBA power forwards and Centers and expect to withstand the 82 game NBA grind year to year ..

Durant was pretty similar to him coming out of college. He could only bench 135 or something pathetic like that. It’s ironic Oden got drafted infront of Durant and you’re comparing the Holmgren kid to Oden who is a different body type.

I've heard the Durant comparison before. Durant is and was more durable. Both skinny stick-built guys, Holmgren moreso IMO.

Holmgren does have talent and lots of skill for his size. Just not sold his body will hold up to the NBA rigors for 82 games of reg season.

We will see, but not until season of 2023 it sounds like.

Thats first one I thought of. I didn't think Durant would make it 3 seasons.

Having said that I don't know anything about this Chet fellow. Duranr is a wing. If Chet can't play wing like Durant then the comparison ends there.

Of course Durant has proved to be durable. My point is you can’t tell for sure who is going to be hurt. Oden would be a better comparison to a guy like Embid who has had injury issues but has also had a pretty good career so far.

I don’t know anything about him either. I guess if he was hurt all the time in college they might be stupid for drafting the kid.
