Game Thread CARDIAC BEAVER SLAYERS VS. PEDO STATE - WEEKEND SERIES - GAME 3 - SUNDAY - 1:00 PM - WATCH ON B1G+

Those are a big 14 pitches, plus pen work, for Unger with Kansas coming in town in 48 hours. They've won 5 straight while scoring 70 or so runs in those games.

Does that count as a save for Unger? The runs that came in weren’t they charged to Olsen and Bender? How does it work in this situation since it got to less than three runs while he was pitching?

Yes, save for Unger.

2 runs charged to Olson & 1 to Pender.

There are a few different ways to get a save. Today, the tying run was at the plate (bases loaded) when J'Shawn entered. He didn't relinquish the lead so he gets the save.

That’s what upsets me about today. I get what Childress was trying to do with Bender and Olsen, taking Mannell out, get them some light duty work to get some confidence back in them. They were facing the middle-bottom part of the oder and SHOULDN’T have had much trouble. Shouldn’t have come to Unger to close the game out today, saving him for some Innings against Kansas.
