My hunch is Rob has favoritesI am curious to what went into the decision to pick Blachowicz (sp?) to come out of the rotation. I certainly want Katskee in the rotation, but why specifically him? I thought he'd been pitching well too.

Honestly, I liked him alot coming into the year, but I think I'd have gone with Ty coming out of the rotation here. He just hasn't done anything to instill confidence in me. At least Jasa and Blac have had some "flashy" games. My hunch is Rob has favorites
That being said, Gavin is of course a really good Sunday option.
You look at the 4 starters:
- Ty...well he's proven from last year and hopefully he'll go deeper into games as the year wears on like last year
- Carson...maybe last week was a sign of things to come? If his control is better, he's got the best stuff and would be lights out. Wish he had a faster delivery to the plate tho with runners on.
- Cooper...best "pitcher" on the team. Knows how to hit spots, hits the zone constantly, can go deep into games, etc.
- Gavin...definitely a good pitcher, misses bats pretty well and throws strikes (#2 in k's on the team, 2nd lowest bb/9). The only knock I think you have on him is build/size/raw talent. He doesn't fit the 'mold' of a dominant pitcher. He does hit people probably too much and uncorks some wild pitches more than you'd like.
So, which one do you leave off? I think it comes down to Carson and Gavin at least. Do you go with talent/arm/size/potential or do you go with the guy who's been more consistent?
I can buy either argument.

P.S.
Rob rightfully gets some critique for some head scratching moves (and pitch calls) but...
3.09 ERA across 4 starters is something I would have absolutely taken to start the season.
You're not getting much of an argument with me. I have agreed all season they need to go deeper into games.Yes, but they're (weekend rotation) not even averaging 5 innings per start. That's not good, so the bullpen has actually done a good job of limiting inherited runners from scoring. Or, Rob is making changes quicker than the previous 2 seasons.
Horn has a 2.1-1 K/BB (brutal, especially for a Friday guy)
Jasa has a 2.8-1 K/BB (not good for any weekend spot)
Blach has a 4.1/1 K/BB (very respectable)
Ty & Carson's numbers are horrible for SP's and Blach's is very good.
Ty & Carson's runners/inning aren't that good either. Too much traffic, and it's because of the BB's.
What do you meanMore to it than performance. This will be an important week and the news could swing our chances big either way.
Blach has some tightness. Losing him would set us back this year as well as next. What do you mean
