Didn’t he exhaust his eligibility? He doesn’t have to “declare” for the draft.

That’s kind of what I was thinking. I wasn’t sure how to post it on here but thought it was nice of him

He didn't redshirt, so... maybe he could have technically come back to the team without playing? But yeah, surprising to see a "declaration," even though it's a nice message.

He's played five full years of football here. So he's used up his four years of normal eligibility plus his COVID year. Like you said, he still has a redshirt year! But I think that's call just "going to school" if you have no more eligibility. 😉
