Historically, most teams who have won that little but had advanced metrics suggesting they should be better have significantly improved the next year.Part of me thinks picking a 3 win team to end up ranked will make ya look like the smartest guy in the room & stat wise we should’ve been a 7 win team. Not a crazy thing to bet on so there may be some genuine belief we end up ranked in ‘22
Yep, so from that regard it makes sense. But also, historically most teams aren't Nebraska who can't help but shit their pants every season.Historically, most teams who have won that little but had advanced metrics suggesting they should be better have significantly improved the next year.
Yeah. I'd also like to know about returning starters in those teams vs Nebraska. Lots of new faces in Lincoln that will need to immediately contributeYep, so from that regard it makes sense. But also, historically most teams aren't Nebraska who can't help but shit their pants every season.
Of all the teams I would pick us to beat, Minnesota is not one of themFornelli predicted 5-7 on the cover 3 podcast.
Wins over NW, North Dakota, Georgia Southern, Minnesota and Indiana
Agreed. I do think there will be at least a little addition by subtraction, especially at qb and hopefully most of the rest show they're what they were hyped up to be.Yeah. They only have one returning starter on their OL so I think that's a factorOf all the teams I would pick us to beat, Minnesota is not one of them
I'm generally not a big believer in addition by subtraction, but if Thompson can avoid running the absolutely devastating turnover play that fucking destroys all our momentum on a regularly basis, you'd think that is an improvement.Agreed. I'm kind of in the camp that fleck has just figured Frost out and Chin out and will make sweet love to their faces annuallyThey only have one returning starter on their OL so I think that's a factor
AM has so many games where he’s just neutral, he’ll have whole halves where he doesn’t do anything & u can expect any positive play to be followed by a fumble. Even if the offense is moving the ball well, he evens it out with his inability to throw thru windows in the redzone.I'm generally not a big believer in addition by subtraction, but if Thompson can avoid running the absolutely devastating turnover play that fucking destroys all our momentum on a regularly basis, you'd think that is an improvement.

To be fair to Fornelli it was an off the cuff prediction and he prefaced it by saying trying to predict Nebraska is absolutely impossible.Of all the teams I would pick us to beat, Minnesota is not one of them

He also said that Thompson was a slight upgrade from Martinez because of his ability to throw the ball down field.
And if our special teams don't suck donkey balls.I'm generally not a big believer in addition by subtraction, but if Thompson can avoid running the absolutely devastating turnover play that fucking destroys all our momentum on a regularly basis, you'd think that is an improvement.
