I second Elizabeth. I’ll probably start watching the women play since the men are done for this month.

Positives:

*length. I wonder when he had his last growth spurt as he appears to be all legs and arms.
*Really good first step. He has a tendency to refuse screens and attack the hoop although mainly with his dominant hand. To me this shows that he has a good ability to read the game. Lots of high school kids play pretty robotic when playing in a patterned offense.
*Good timing on defensive recovery. His length allows him to alter some passes and protect the rim from a help side role
*Pretty much never comes out.
*dude has solid footwork offensively. He's effective coming off a screen with the ball in his hands which allows him to blow by his defender.

Negatives:
*Not a strong 1 v 1 defender. Some of it is he's guarding kids thicker than him but he has a tendency to get caught in traffic and relies too much on his defensive recovery, due to his length, which works at his level but won't at college. Not really a worry for college as that gets worked out pretty quick from a weight lifting and playing against better players.
*Not a great ballhandler in traffic. He will play a little too fast for his game right now which resulted in a few turnovers. Not really all that uncommon for high school kids

Great summary. I watched the first half before heading to the office this morning. He showed flashes of great potential but struggled against what was a high-level defensive team. And man, are his legs skinny...... 😅
