I really thought Archie Miller would have more success at Indiana. His coaching DVD's are fantastic and his schemes translate really well to the high school game. He had success at Dayton as well but for whatever reason, it's not translating. His brother, at Arizona, is underwhelming as well.

Stretch their from like 2013-2017 where it looked like Sean Miller would have Arizona as a contender for a while, but he's taken a huge step back and I don't really know why they'd hang onto him with the ncaa stuff hanging around in the universe

I don't understand why Sean is still at Arizona unless his buyout is huge. The results are mediocre at the legal issues that have put a strain on his program and I don't see how he recovers from it. Maybe they are both good examples of the Peter Principle, good mid-major coaches, but it doesn't translate to the bigger leagues. The Pac-12 isn't exactly murderers row for basketball outside of Arizona State and Oregon. Cronin might be able to get UCLA back on track but he was clearly their plan C or lower. I like Cronin and his teams at Cincinnati were tough outs but I'm skeptical. There just seems to be something off about UCLA athletics.

Cronin was like the least UCLA-y hire UCLA ever could have made. Maybe it'll work because of that and he will get a long runway for takeoff since their boosters are supposedly pretty fatigued from paying buyouts.

I'm pretty sure UCLA has some restrictions, due to California state law, on what they can financially offer coaches as well. At a certain point, established coaches are outside of the price range.
