Brief Big Ten recaps

Illinois 26, Minnesota 14
Chase Brown rushed for 180 yards on a career-high 41 carries and caught a 40-yard touchdown pass, Minnesota was limited to its fewest yards in five years, and No. 24 Illinois won its fifth straight game with a 26-14 victory Saturday. The Illini (6-1, 3-1) became bowl eligible for the first time since 2019 and will end the day tied for first in the Big Ten West.

Michigan 41, Penn State 17
Donovan Edwards ran for a go-ahead 67-yard touchdown and Blake Corum had a 61-yard run for a score on consecutive snaps in the third quarter as No. 5 Michigan pulled away and beat No. 10 Penn State 41-17 on Saturday. The Wolverines (7-0, 4-0) finished with 418 yards rushing, gaining 7.6 yards per carry against a team that was giving up fewer than 80 yards rushing per game to rank among college football's leaders.

Maryland 38, Indiana 33
Following an injury to Taulia Tagovailoa in the fourth quarter, Billy Edwards Jr. stepped in and led a game-winning drive to lift Maryland past Indiana 38-33 on Saturday.

Michigan State 34, Wisconsin 28 (2OT)
Quarterback Payton Thorne threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jayden Reed in the second overtime Saturday to lift Michigan State to a 34-28 victory over Wisconsin. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Spartans (3-4, 1-3 Big 10 Conference). It is the first loss for Wisconsin’s interim coach Jim Leonhard who replaced Paul Chryst two weeks ago.

Purdue 43, Nebraska 37
Aidan O'Connell threw four touchdown passes and Devin Mockobee ran for a career-high 178 yards and another score Saturday as Purdue overpowered Nebraska 43-37. The Boilermakers (5-2, 3-1) have won four straight and retained a share of the conference's West Division with No. 24 Illinois.

D3 National Champs in basketball when I was there. They were fun to watch.

So they were both I guess?
Prairie wolves came from my woke classmates. We were the Plainsmen but of course that was sexist. As was Freshman so we were "First year students" not Freshman.

Nobody could figure out who voted for Prairie Wolves either. They had some better names. Think the student vote was rigged.

All things that I was very annoyed with at the time. Now I'm not sure why.
