I would like to see the Big 10 go to an 8 game conference schedule and play at least two games against Power 5/4 conference.

TBD based on the details how big this will be. Some of the big names in CFB media were pretty high on this yesterday. If this plays out like there are set games Pac 12+B1G / B1G+ACC / ACC+PAC 12, this is a huge win. Basically means that SEC non-conference slate is shit going forward. Also means you have some guaranteed heavy hitter games every year w/ huge TV revenue. Even something like Wisconsin+USC would have huge ratings.
Don't know how big the balls in the room are though.

More than anything though this is intended to limit the power ESPN has over CFB going forward. The alliance members aren't going to approve any changes to the playoff model w/o limiting ESPN's power over that process. Extra games get pushed out to a bidding process for value across the networks, rather than being locked into ESPN.

All of this is good for the sport IMO.

Idk that they've really announced much of anything yet, but what people were saying on twitter was:
PAC-12 and B1G drop a conference game. So it'd be 1 ACC, 1 PAC, and then two G5 non-con games. Theoretically you could still schedule an SEC game, but why would you unless it's something like GA Tech and UGA (and I'm sure they would have to figure something out w/ that rotation).

I think more than anything this is about reducing ESPN's power in pushing the movement for the sport for TV revenue. If the playoff is reconfigured before the contract ends, you're stuck with ESPN coverage for the extended term of the deal. Alliance members have made it clear they're not going to approve the new playoff without some changes, and my guess is that means that you try to negotiate that rights picture with NBC/CBS/Fox and see what a competitive price looks like.

I don't understand it yet? Maybe thinking by combining their dipshits minds they could get shit right?

Can someone who isn't an absolute idiot explain this to me?

ESPN will just continue to do what they've done that last 15+ years and force feed the SEC down our throats. They won't even talk about any other conference's games. ESPN just has too much control over the perception of college football.

The House of Mouse needs to die.
