Just bought one from a local guy. Beef is through the roof. I ended up being in just under $1000 for a 1/4 with processing

How many lbs did you get for that $1000 is the real question.

Originally around 200 lbs we bought. Ended up with a bunch of ground beef, roasts, steaks, and a brisket

Gone up a lot in the last 6 months or so.

I hate buying 1/4's though. 1/2 or more iyam.

Yeah it makes sense. It just seems less efficient.

It's probably the opposite because I tend to get new when it starts to get old and give the hamburger away to someone who doesn't have a wife that thinks the 2 year old hamburger in the freezer is bad.

On par with most of the country, fetching about $3.20/lb for all grass beef at the stockyards.

You’re right. Went back and looked at that sellers message in Dec 2023. It was a 1250 live weight. I don’t know how much carcass was
