This is obviously good news for the baseball program but I ask...

Would this money be better spent on another football player or two? Are you willing to sacrifice a few football players to have a better baseball team?



Obviously they may have gotten a donor that said "baseball only donation" and it makes this question irrelevant.

right, I would just assume there's a booster or two out there that are donating specifically for baseball

given the scholarship limits I'd think baseball is a place where that money would have a big impact

Why speak in hypotheticals? Are we saying the same thing when it comes to volleyball players on NIL? Basketball?

I feel like this is a good thing. It was either Deab (I know) or Robin that said there are more scholarship WR than there are scholarship baseball players. Take that FWIW. And hell, at least this program has won a Big Ten title.

When the Huskers made the CWS, it was amazingly insane. Since you can probably take care of the whole baseball team for the cost of 1 notable football transfer, and Rhule is going to develop every 3* into a 5* anyway, yes I would.

This is where I am. We could buy conference championships in baseball for the same amount we pay for some mercenary transfer who ends up being a backup.

And still possibly would be in the red at the end of the day. As a baseball guy I would want that as well but football pays the bills that baseball creates.
