I’ve told this story before but when I was prosecuting we had a Deputy that was notorious for being a fucking idiot.

He couldn’t spell, wrote like a 5th grader and every single report, search warrant affidavit, etc etc would have errors and (more importantly) too vague and lacking of necessary details.

Suddenly we started getting docs from him that were 3x as long filled with flowery language that nobody, least of all him, ever uses in everyday life. (let alone in a legal document)

ex: “The Undersherif and I matriculated throughout Defendant’s abode when we unearthed an assortment of firearms. Upon supplementary inspection we ascertained the caliber and brands as: etc etc”


after like 3 of them our office decided we had to call him because we all figured he was having somebody else write these for him (which is illegal)

He comes to our office and admits he has been using a software program called “Grammarly” because he thought nobody would notice and would think he was smart. I told him that the writing sounds like an Oxford associate professor on cocaine and he didn’t get my joke.

anyhoo, unauthorized software on Sheriff Office computer used on private privileged information + he already was on strike 2 for past actions = we had to report him to KPOST
—> he is now a Deputy in Norton County Kansas…. Jesus Christ lol
