I live in Charlotte and can’t seem to find a way to ship craft beer from out of state to NC. My brother’s birthday is coming up and would love to get him a case of the “Dear Old Nebraska Brew” from Zipline (note- I don’t need a bunch of people saying how much the beer sucks. It’s more for the novelty). Would love to pair the Zipline beer with a bunch of other local beers from breweries he likes too if possible (Boiler Brewing, Kinkaider, Corn Coast, etc).

Anyone successfully found a way to ship or transport craft beer to themselves or someone else from out of state previously?

TIA

Yes. Put it in a box and mail it. Don’t tell the USPS that it’s alcohol. Used to send booze to friends stationed in Afghanistan this way.

I brought back beer in a checked bag last year flying home from LNK to CLT from the game against Minnesota- which is apparently allowed with no issues.

If anyone lives in the Lincoln area and is going to be out in the charlotte area over the next few months let me know.. would love to work something out if we can

This is the correct answer.

I’m sure if you ask nicely @Jim14510 will keister it for you and drive it from NE -> NC.

I know you don’t have to shove it up your butt a-la prison smuggling if you’re only driving it across state lines but @Jim14510 is just that kind of guy.
This is the incorrect answer.

Hope that helps.

Just package it, if you USPS office has a scale you can self label the shipping. If not, just bring it up to the counter and have them weigh and label.

Don't tell them it's booze if they ask, but doubt they will. The employees don't care.

If for some reason they call you out on it, play dumb. But I can't think of a way you'd get in trouble or have it caught

They just don't send it. First time I did it I just took a Blantons to UPS store and said I want to ship. He said...

This is alcohol right?

Yep!

You can't ship alcohol.

Oh. No wonder you were looking at me like I was a moron.

Then I left and gave it to my secretary and said put it in a box before you send.

Fucking ABC state thanks Virginia.
Agreed, although I'm talking strictly about shipping highly douchey samples of highly douchey spirits that only CONNOISSEURS like myself can enjoy. Virginia is about middle of the road nationwide in terms of having bottles shipped from other states or overseas. DC is actually about the best in the country on all of this stuff.

Hell yeah. We have a good friend who lives in DC and she’s our liquor mule when we need to order liquor online.

Couple great apps that you can use-Tavour is what I use. I'm in a beer club with a couple guys and we send stuff every couple months. Specialty beers, burboun, lube....you know the basics. 😳🤣 Just wrap it in bubble wrap, news paper whatever to pack it stable and say it's cooking supplies like BBQ Vinegar etc. I've never had a problem. If you like Ipas or Specialty beers, check out the Tavour app....it's awesome.
