Anybody else rooting for POB and Gebbia?

If I ever flip on some late night Paction and they're playing, maybe.

Same. But you have to be a really big weirdo to watch Pac27 football late night from Connecticut. Get some sleep, my man.

I won't root for them to suck, though. Best of luck to them.

QUARTERBACK

This one obviously became a no-brainer once Jimmy Lake announced that Dylan Morris was his starter, in a way so matter-of-fact that it caught most of the media off-guard. It wasn't the pick so much as the timing and delivery. The fact of the matter is that Morris, who started all four games last season, has continued to build off his 2020 season and is now demonstrably better. His understanding of John Donovan's pro-style attack has improved, his decision-making has improved, and he's gotten more aggressive with his reads as a result. That means taking more shots down the field and completing passes he wasn't able to complete last season.
The real battle now is for who backs Morris up. If this was the end of April, Colorado State transfer Patrick O'Brien would have been the clear choice. But we're now heading into the final week of August, and it's nowhere near as clear. O'Brien picked up a knock in the last few days, which certainly hasn't helped his cause. But true freshman Sam Huard has come on like gangbusters this month. It's as if he took all the knocks he suffered on the field in spring, banked them, learned from them, and is now reaping the rewards of his earlier struggles.
STARTER: Dylan Morris
