10 years married today. Has been a really great 10 years. 6 years married before having kids so we got to have some fun independence early on. Miscarried our first baby but have since had beautiful daughters. Life changes but it keeps getting better.

How long have you gentlemen been married?

Congrats!

Our 15 year is coming up in January. Man time flies. I remember looking at people married for 15 years and thinking they were old. Now I'm old.

My wife and I got pregnant 3 months into marriage, so she was 9 months pregnant on our first anniversary. Had 2 more kids since then and now we're only 10 years from being empty nesters 😲.

They say the first few years of marriage are the toughest. Do you agree with that?

I’d say our first were our easiest. Little tougher adjusting to kids to be honest. Still wouldn’t call anything in our 10 years “tough”, we’ve been fortunate.

I think the first few years would only be hard if you never talked about being married before you got married. Like couples who find out that they have different views on money and/or kids after they're married bottle my mind.

When we got married, we had several people tell us that the first few years would be the toughest, and several people tell us that the first few years would be easy and it got tough later.

Personally, we haven't had any part of it be noticeably different, just than the normal ebbs & flows.

I think having kids early in our marriage + not having much money + me doing some stupid things made our marriage tougher in the first 3 or 4 years than it is now.

That's not to say it was that tough. We weren't ever close to splitting up or anything like that. But relative to what our marriage is now, it was tougher.

6 years in September, 2 year old daughter. Been great! We did not live together before marriage so that was really the only big adjustment we had to make. Her family is pretty religious so that was the reason. If I could do anything over again, it would be to just push harder in some form or fashion to somehow get an introduction to that. I just wasn't quite prepared for her being the clean freak she is. I, however, have gone through my own aging as the years have gone by and love a clean house as much as she does, and my cleaning standards have upped quite a bit since being married.

Within the first 6 months, she was already talking about how her parents had almost gotten divorced a few times due to her dad's lack of a desire to have a spit shined home like her mom did. "don't let that happen to us". "We're not your parents" was my response.

Six years Nov 27. Bought and renovated a house and had two kids in that time. Lots of living in the last 6 years.

2 years - first was great, second had less sex and more sass…
But I deserve it with how much shit I give her, and if that’s the most I have to deal with, it’s pretty damn good
