Anyone watch this on Netflix? I thought it was one of the better shows I've watched in awhile. There is quite a bit of historical accuracy too. Netflix put out an article about it recently.

They'd already been forced out of their homes and driven away a couple times by that point. Women and children burned alive in their homes. Pretty much their last chance to take a stand.

It was pretty good. A little sensationalized, and the "strong woman" thing was overblown, but entertaining overall if you're not afraid of gratuitous gore.

Yeah, she was the one thing that annoyed me. You can be strong/bitchy/demanding to a degree, but at some point STFU and listen to people who know what the hell is going on.

Pretty good cast. Wish Jim Bridger would have been a little more of an opposing figure, but great series. I really like Peter Berg.

Mormons are absolute whack jobs and were back then too. They are the original cult that used religion to scare people into their way of thinking. Thats why they were forced into a small area.

There were points where that mom kept trying to do things her way....and as always...bad shit or almost certain death would ensue....maybe listen to the freaking mountain man...
Otherwise, I enjoyed it.

Are we going to argue about morals from 200 or 300 years ago? Brigham Young was a shit bag and LDS is still a cult. Was it okay for him to force young girls to be his 20th wife?

I thought it was a pretty good show. I enjoyed it. Thought it showed a probably more realistic version of things back then in that area of the country.
I wouldn't want to live in LDS territory. I love south Utah - the landscape is amazing. Don't think it is overly LDS in that area (maybe St George is, but doubt Moab and west side of S Utah is). But don't know that for sure.
Have spent some time in the SLC area in the past - LDS is a heavy influence there, and probably down to about I80 to the south. No thanks for me.
