Probably not relevant. Just found it interesting. Hampton basically just transferred to a team that likely doesn't need his services to win another state championship. But Carthage is an East Texas program that any sane coach would be looking to get a connection to. Seems to me Texas has a really good in with Carthage.

Sources confirmed that Aeryn Hampton (5'10, 175) has enrolled at Carthage.
Hampton is one of the state's most heavily recruited prospects, checking in as a DCTF four-star prospect at No. 47 in the 2024 DCTF Hot 100.
Hampton has racked up over 25 scholarship offers and recently named a Top 7: Texas, Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Oregon.
Hampton is known to be one of the state's most dangerous two-way threats. He posted 1,161 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns, 74 tackles, and nine interceptions (five returned for TDs) to earn second-team all-state honors as a junior in 2022 at Daingerfield.
Carthage won the 4A Division II UIL State Championship in 2022, giving the Bulldogs nine state title wins under the direction of Scott Surratt.
