I think we were one of the finalists for Taiwan Mullen. Can't remember much about his recruitment but remember we were recruiting him.

So the schools with nobody mentioned are Nebraska, NW, Illinois, Maryland and Rutgers? Just so happens those are the teams picked at the bottom of their divisions.

Looks right

Purdue could have a good season this year. Their schedule is a joke

Sucks to suck, but boy do we suck.

If we were to have a player in contention for Offensive or Defensive Player of the Year, who would it be?

If Ochuan or Nelson have big Sack numbers I could see one of them getting mention if we have a winning season.

Offensively I think Thompson is our only hope if we win while he puts up big numbers in a pass heavy offense. I think we have the receivers but our line is a complete Wild Card.

Hopefully Palmer at WR is a dude and he puts up big numbers

If Thompson is a quick blinker and gets the ball out quick then maybe our o-line won't be such a liability

Anthony Grant maybe

Guys who I could see it being...

Offensively
  • Casey Thompson
  • Trey Palmer
After that I don't see anybody to make that top 10 group for this list. I don't think we will have a RB, TE and usually OL isn't involved here (But I don't know if we will have an All Conference guy anyway).

Could Yant or Grant pop? Maybe, but that is a stretch to get into this conversation IYAM.

Defensively

  • Nelson
  • Mathis
  • Reimer
  • Henrich
  • Newsome
I see a lot of All Conference players on the defense. I don't know if I see a 1st rounder type talent here though that it takes to be DPOY.

Honestly for the defense to be what we need it to be we need Ty to be on that list too. He needs to increase his consistency.

This is the first realistic prediction I've seen.

I'm okay with being near the bottom.

So none of the writers were willing to put much confidence in Scott and his putrid Nebraska results so far combined with....

Coaching staff overhaul
Roster overhaul
A fan base that is ready to move on
An AD that was forced to keep him

I'm shocked. Shocked I say!

Believe Mullen was down to us and Indiana and obviously picked Indiana.

The polls make perfect sense, the difference between 5th and 3rd in the West is also eight points so it is certainly a pretty thin line where Nebraska could fall, but based on the past 5th makes perfect sense.

Actually based on the past 6th makes perfect sense.
