2026 baseball transfers port hole thread

IDK what the staff has planned for Jeter, or vice versa, from a position standpoint. There is absolutely 0% chance I risk losing Worthley by adding Capece.
Let's just pretend Jeter moves position, is Capece a better option than Fikes? CC seemed to have a down year, but I didn't pay much attention to him or his team. He did play in the Cape last year, which is attention grabbing.

We currently have 6 LHP and maybe 16-21 (depends on who is leaving) RHP on the roster, so definitely need to add some LHP

Would have to research each players results at SHSU to have a better idea to speculate. They had a very bad year in 2025 (11 or 12 wins), but picked it up in 2026 with a respectful bounce-back (mid 20 wins). Could be an underlining problem, could be players shown the door, could be money related, could be something else...
It's not always about RS/NIL ($); see Anderson, Matthews, Jasa, Carey, Grego & Je Worthley as prime examples. On the flip side, see Brumbaugh & Bolin who did leave because of it, IIRC more so with Brum.
Sounds like we'll have an unexpected one hit the portal today or tomorrow. Not a big name, production wise, but one that we wanted back.
