I used to fall victim to this. But I'm immune to it now.
Like, I could normally con myself into thinking that we got nothing to lose, new coaches will make a difference, break out the playbook, etc. Which would all be true for a normal program. But Nebraska will find ways to lose both these games. That's where I'm at now. Even if we're close there'll be an Adrian turnover or dumb decision by Frost. This is why I make money on NU games now, bc this is all very easy to predict.

Mine was back in the summer when I told him Illinois would give NU problems with a new coaching staff and very little to go off of....he pontificated about how that wasn't true and NU would roll....[checks notes]....apparently Frost said the team wasn't prepared for an even front, they only repped an odd front....or vice versa, I forget with all of Frost's stupid quotes. Crickets from slappy when I mentioned it to him in that same thread...fking clown.

That is correct...he belittled anyone that said they were nervous about the Illinois game. He went on and on about how Fat Bert is a horrible coach and all his wins at UW & ARK were smoke and mirrors.

I really don't know how good that tubby bastard is as a coach, but he has 3x more B1G wins in his first year than Frost has in year 4. FML
that's with a team that has a much thinner roster, has recruited worse, and has no history outside of Red Grange... But coaching isn't that important, amirite?
