Hey @MtnHusker . Did you ever have any interaction with Perry Farrell?
Yeah, we did a concert for a private party for ShowtIme Television Network with him during his Porno For Pyros days. He came in the next day after the concert all amped up saying it was an amazing place to play. Promised us the band was going to come back for another show by the end of the Ski Season. I flat out told him we couldn't afford him because we'd have to charge so much for tickets because of the limited venue size. I think they paid them $250,000 to play plus hotel, airline tickets, ground transportation and other expenses. Perry said he'd make us afford him and it wasn't about money to him. His agents disagreed when we reached out to them. It's almost always about money with the Music Industry & Hollywood.
Perry is an Odd Duck, very eccentric. Rest of the band was chill. He put on a great show and was very entertaining. One of those celebs you need to kiss his ass at first until you get him on your side, after that they are putty in your hands.
I will say his drummer Steven Perkins is a cool cat and one of the best drummers I ever worked with. He had a side project band called Banyon and would play our place a few times a year. He'd bring in a great cast of studio & touring musicians like Mike Watt of The Minute men, Willy Waldman from Snoop Dogg..... that wanted to play a 1-2 week gig. Was like an All Star show.
