We’re not a series programI can’t tell if you’re being series or not.
He is and that's probably true. Like I said, I'm purely going off of looking at his stats. If I'd really watched him play to see his style of play, I might feel differently.Isn’t the Minnesota guy a freshman? If we had a freshman RB2 returning with those kind of numbers, I don’t think you’d see as many people freaking out about the RB room
If you can upgrade a position and don’t have a boafide stud you do it in the xfer portal era. Mozee you have to be careful with but the other guy I don’t think would have any serious offers if he tried to portal.Isn’t the Minnesota guy a freshman? Uh oh boys we mighta got one
Why is that not the same? We were willing to pay $1.4M based on his production. He went to someone who would pay more. Not really the same when it's a no brainer for him to go to the NFL imo
Solid offer for sure but I don't think he was ever a realistic option to return. It would be different if he went to another school. He took the next step which was the most logical choice. Why is that not the same? We were willing to pay $1.4M based on his production. He went to someone who would pay more.
$1.4M might have made him the highest paid RB in the country. We would have been pretty much assured he would produce if we got him. This was Nakos' take on the RB market pay coming into 1/2:

I don't think it was a 'show' offer because we didn't think he'd take it. It was high so we'd have a chanceSolid offer for sure but I don't think he was ever a realistic option to return. It would be different if he went to another school. He took the next step which was the most logical choice.
Maybe this guy is the most realistic back for the funds available. I was just hoping we'd go after someone more like Cam Edwards for instance.
How about we get the losers rb between Miami and Ol Miss?
Lacey already re-signed, so you better hope they win.How about we get the losers rb between Miami and Ol Miss?
So would Nelson...If you extrapolated his stats based on a typical RB1 work load he would be pretty serviceable. Minnesota was generally doo doo this year too
Rhule had plenty of time to fix the situation.Who was? It was pretty obvious to me that we didn't have the money to get anybody worth a shit inside. Frost left jack shit for upperclassmen there.
Makhi Hughes seemed like a great get by Oregon after 2 huge years at Tulane, but he barely played at Oregon. He is similar in that if you go back and look at his stats from Tulane, he had 1 - 100+ yard game against P4 competition in 5 chances over 2 years.I don't think it was a 'show' offer because we didn't think he'd take it. It was high so we'd have a chance
Edwards is fine, but he also played at a lower level (UConn) and only has one year left, not 3. Edwards' games with over 100 yards rushing were Delaware, Air Force, Central CT, Ball St, Florida Atlantic, and Army. Not exactly B1G level competition. Barthel was actually his position coach at UConn in 2022, so one would expect he is familiar with the guy.
Nelson had 15 carries for 59 yards prior to the Utah game. I would need a really good explanation from the coaches why they feel good going into next year when they didn't trust him enough to give him more than 1.25 carries per game.So would Nelson...
