2025-26 #PortalSZN Thread

Schedule detail

  • Unstick thread
  1. Seaofred92 Seaofred92
His value is all special teams. From Michigan.

Could see Pat fitz and Levar woods try to tamper and take him.
Nebraska isn’t going to pay him to keep him
I'm 99% sure he has to be a DSA, so he likely isn't making much of anything and he knows he'll be allowed to withdraw by Rhule. He is likely just trying to see if there is an opportunity for more PT somewhere else at this level.

Almost everyone in this thread would say there's no chance he gets more PT elsewhere because he can't get it in this crappy RB room.

1) we weren't "fine" at RB, we were insanely lucky that EJ didn't get hurt even though he had a gazillion touches.

2) DL portal action was pretty low effort and they prioritized big money on WRs
Our biggest portal addition was on the DL. Hindsight is obviously 20/20. But we can't just change history...

Any chance a top program would give him a small bag to return kicks?

How do you tamper with someone already in the portal?
He just entered.
I could see them over the past week message him with agents.
Pat and obviously Lavar love special teams.
He’s not getting paid much of anything at Nebraska. They could offer him some scratch and take it

I have never seen a similar analytics study for college ball but NFL analytics suggest the running game is not a major factor in winning games. Intuitively I think college is somewhat different.

I think a pretty good argument could be made that a good OL + a decent RB is a good running team vs a decent OL + a good running back isn’t.

I wouldn’t blame the staff if they’re wanting to be 100% sure they have the funds to put out the best OL they can before investing in a RB, especially if they’re feeling ok about our RB room.
