I don’t disagree, but we aren’t in the age of 145 man rosters anymore. We can’t just take bodies for the sake of taking bodies now that we have roster limits.
Yeah I don't want them to just desperation grab anyone, but it just didn't strike me as a position they even tried to prioritize which is confusing with the stated goal of dominating the lines.

It could turn out totally fine and they could get a couple instant impact guys and a couple young portal guys with 3-4 years of eligibility left, but the latter is going to be a much spendier route than just prioritizing high schoolers

Is Devin Jackson signing live or something?

Doesn't look like he's officially signed yet. No one is talking about it yet so I'm guessing he must be having a signing ceremony later on?

From HOL's Mongo earlier today:

Wanted to pass along that while Danny Odem signed today, it seems that Devin Jackson will be waiting until a ceremony tomorrow to send in his NLI. I still don't think this is opening any type of door for Nebraska. I also can't understand why their HS decided to do a ceremony a day after NSD? Kind of weird...

Any OT with starting P4 experience should garner interest from Nebraska

I still wish Nebraska would've shot for some more blue chip prospects in this 2026 class but credit to Bud who clearly isn't a huge Husker fan for recognizing and defending Nebraska's recruiting.

Yeah I mean you bring in a class of 10 guys and have a young roster and a need to win quickly - anybody using their brain can understand the goal. The question is whether we can achieve it.

Yeah I agree the jury is still out on whether we can actually execute on the plan, but it’s a unique strategy. We could have had a better class for this year obviously but it wasn’t going to make a significant difference on the field for next year. I applaud the courage to try something different if nothing else. If it works out, then Rhule will look like a genius.

There aren't any teams with fewer recruits ranked higher than Nebraska's class. Say Nebraska was able to get to 15, there are 11 classes ranked ahead with 11-15 commits in their class. Nebraska's average recruit ranking is better than 9 of those teams, the other two: LSU & South Carolina. Nebraska's class ranking by recruit average is 23rd according to 247.

LSU has two in-state 5-star commits. uSC class is full of SC & NC 4 stars and a VA 5-star.

Nebraska gets to 15 commits this is likely a top-25 class.

Yeah and you just go back in time to ask how we got to playing 4-5 dudes who are way too green to be asked to play as much as they did.

2021 class (5th year seniors)
- Ruquan Buckley (transferred to Mich State)
- Jailen Weaver (last seen at Garden City cc.)

2022 (4th year)
-Brodie Tagaloa (now at Sac St., spent a year at TE, then DL, then car accident wiped out a year)
-Jake Appleget (was at NIU then portaled, was a TE but listed as DL by crootin service)

2023 (3rd year, probably when we should expect dudes to start getting run unless they're legit)
- Van Poppel. First year as a key contributor getting his legs under him.
- Cam Lenhardt. Regular player for 3 years is
- Sua Lefotu. Garbage time duty.
- Maverick Noonan. Garbage time duty.

- Princewill (now at Ole Miss)
- Vincent Carroll Jackson (now at UCONN, looks like he played a bit)
- Kai Wallin (now at Oregon State)

So of the 3 classes you'd expect to make the bulk of your contributors in 2025, they signed charitably 11 guys. Only 4 of which are still on campus. And of the 4 only 2 of them have been regular contributors.
We're still paying for Frosts shitty recruiting. No upperclassmen on the DL. Same at rb. Emmett and then absolutely nothing else.
