Breaking JoBu Out

What if we asked for one Husker fan to act as tribute per year. They can try to run, it can be a whole hunting humans kinda thing. You could even tie it to performance or something like, "With his 15th sack he just earned a second kill in the Husker Hunger games in the spring"
they get a corn spear to defend themselves

With all this new DC talk…surely Wilson Dittman has the goods on the short list and who’s the primary target right?!?

I mean, shouldn’t he be stepping up and telling us who’s next!?!

Why are we even debating this?

😂
If Garret doesn’t have a candidate list for us by EOD I’ll have to believe whatever Dittmans reports

So Rhule has hired 6 coordinators in 3 years.

He’s whiffed on 3 (Satt, Foley, Butler) - 50%
He’s knocked 2 out of the park (White, Ekeler) - 33%
And the jury is still out on 1 (Dana) - 17%

Just sick we're on coaching staff 4 that refuses to hire the best.
If the admin put a poll on here with a list of names, and just let us vote on who to hire I bet we could do a better job putting a staff together than our retarded head coaches. Pretty bold claim considering we can’t really predict how people would mesh, but I don’t think we could really do much worse than what we’ve seen.

…all true and one has to give him credit for continuing to do what needs to be done. That was quite rare in the past.

True. And he’s righted one of the wrongs with Foley/Ekeler.

And look, anyone with a brain knows we need to spend money in the portal on D and we need a DC with some experience. We’re gonna be fine there. There’s a dozen guys who are available and capable of giving us a top 5-6 B10 defense.

The big matza ball is it’s all for naught unless Dana’s offense takes off next year. Can’t continue living in the bottom third of the conference on offense. Never going to get to 9+ wins that way. That means I don’t think he can afford to lose Dylan. He’s solid, he’s proven, he's talented, he provides continuity, his presence attracts other great players, and he’s going to get better. You’re going to overpay to keep him, probably $500K-$1M more than any other team. So what. It’s a drop in the bucket over the long run.

We gotta let Dana be Dana. I just can't quite believe that we have been running his preferred offense. Whether it's related to Dylan, or the OL, or a directive from Rhule, it just looks WAY too much like the Satterfield offense for me to believe he's doing the same things he did when he was racking up zillions of yards for all those years.

It is the Satterfense, just with a few things mixed in and Dana calling plays.

I realize it’s more important to absolve Dana rather than confront the idea that maybe he was a mistake, but if he is allowing himself to be hamstrung, at some point that is on him.

He’s a grown man and doesn’t need to accept a small fortune in payment to do his job in a way that he doesn’t believe in. He can find other places that will “let Dana be Dana.”

If he’s willing to do a shitty job because he likes the money and doesn’t want to rock the boat, then GTFO.

That’s why he’s interviewing at North Texas right?
