How did Bo manage to get so much right during his tenure here?

Wow.. cally players were still playing until 2011. Tmart was a hell of a Callahan player. Wonder why cally only won 5 games his last season with all that talent
It is pretty mind boggling what the record was compared to the talent he had on that team. I personally favor the theory that that team and the defense specifically were engaging in point shaving. There were so many suspect moments by the defense. Moments where the defender was in position to make the play and the defender just mysteriously fails to make contact at all. You can see linebackers literally pull up and allow scores. If you can stomach it and still give a shit I recommend looking at games like Mizzou. Pretty obvious. And never forget the defense miraculously showing up against Texas when they were a 22 point favorite. Strange how we played lights out against the second best team we saw that year and almost won.

Do you mean 2009? That team should have contended for a national championship if it didn’t have the single worst offense I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

I’d honest believe they threw the game against ISU that year given how improbable the loss was - Niles Paul literally drops a ball by himself heading into score.

@huskerj12 Five pages, well done. Well done indeed. You’ve got the masses frothing and feeling the guy who flamed out here, at LSU, and burned out at Youngstown State was ‘it’!

For my money, still the best defense I’ve seen in my time as an NU fan. Still 10-4. That ISU game was rough but the TTU 31-10 deep dicking, for my money, I still the low point of that year. Struggling with and losing to an average VTech team up there too.

He had me fooled. Well done
You guys are giving me too much credit, I was being obviously sarcastic about some parts but the fact still remains that I am in fact nostalgic for the frustrating but exciting Bo era because we’ve been stuck in a boring ass gutter ever since, and it boggles my mind that nobody has been able to get close to the entertainment value or W/L results of a borderline madman ever since.

Yes.

The B1G in 2025 has the 3rd best head to head record against other P4 teams of the P4. Only better than the ACC.

It is extremely mediocre/bad after the top 3.

We are just looking up from the bottom instead of down from the top/upper middle.
We’re looking at the B1G today vs the big of 2010. It’s not comparable.

4 former PAC-12 teams added. One was in the national championship game 2 years ago, the other two are playoff caliber squads. The remaining B1G is competitive and the head-to-head records just points to the leveling in talent among conferences.

A school like Northwestern appears to be in a better place today than 10 years ago. Same for Vanderbilt or Mizzou or Illinois. You can list teams all day. ASU, SMU, Miami, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Syracuse.

Is Dabo/Clemson dogshit or does the ACC boast more parity? I’d argue that’s similar for conferences across the board.

I was ready to send Matt O Hanlon death threats post VTech but he sure redeemed himself and then some against OU that year

Northwestern is unquestionably NOT in a better place today than they were 10 years ago.

Washington went to the title game 2 years ago? Great! None of their coaches or players are here in the B1G.

The bottom of the league is as bad as it’s ever been, highlighted by a team that hasn’t won a game against any P4 opponent in more than 2 seasons.

The middle is also the same mediocre level it’s always been.

Here are the P4 vs P4 records this year on the off chance you’re actually interested in on-field results:

SEC: 10-3
Big 12: 8-6
B1G: 5-5
ACC: 4-13

There’s also been no “leveling out”. These head to head records also look about the same as they did 10 years ago.

They don’t care about facts or data… it’s all about their feelings
