Love TJ but he needs another year. Gotta get a portal qb
True, if they can get a one year guy and let TJ develop and put on some mass and not push him out there unprepared again. Kids got the skills though you can see the flashes. Also he's tough, out there today with a bad hammy in the cold still trying to make something happen.

Just need to start asking ourselves "What would Cockeye do?" and do that

Cockeye would trot someone out much worse that TJ but he'd be much more successful because they can actually develop players and put them in position to be successful. Probably too much to ask
It all starts with LOS play. Ours has been subpar for far too long. Last seasons D Line was an exception. O Line HAS to get fixed. Both lines have to get fixed. Skill players can't operate on offense with a subpar O Line. Play makers on defense can't operate with a shitty D Line.

They’d also dominate the LOS, average less than 3 penalties a game and not turn the ball over.

Key point is develop players. Cockeye won't have to go to the portal to find OL or DL like NU will. Nebraska lacks that foundation of development, depth, and continuity.

Leavitt turned out good but he was the definition of scraps.
True, I guess I worded it wrong. We’re definitely not getting the Carson becks and will howards of the world, but talented dudes will be out there and it’s up to the staff to find them. Leavitt film was pretty good in his limited time at MSU. Note that I don’t have a ton of confidence in our staff being able to do this after the Sims debacle.
