So Kirk Ferentz coached in both (multiple?) eras. Is he a coach that is especially suited to today's era of college football? Because he's been waxxing our assCompletely different eras. Apples to Oranges.
It’s what 72 year olds typically do.Wonder why he retired

The whole eras of college football thing is way overblown imo
Riley had recruiting going for a while as well, some of the assistant hires in that regard were pretty solid. I think if we won 7-8 games year 1 we might’ve landed a few of the ones we got second place with and his tenure might’ve looked a different towards the end.The way Callahan operated would have been perfect for this era.
It's a toss up between him and Rhule.
I think Pelini with kids these days would have really struggled.
I think a lot of people will disagree with me and it's probably fair, but if the AD department didn't try to undermine Mike Riley every step of the way, he won 9 games and then they made him fire his long time DC Mark Banker, they forced him to hire that fucking idiot DC and forced him to hire a terrible GM. I dunno he might have been OK.
Yup just look when he was DC at LSU in like 2020 or 2021 lolPeople thinking Pelini would be winning 9-10 games a year post 2020 are delusional
I agree he wouldn't have been as successful as he was 2011-14 (winning 75%). But I think he'd have won about half give or take.
Sad to be daydreaming about how awesome going .500 against Cockeye would be
Bo was not a great recruiter, but NIL would have helped him. Bo would have won more games this year than Rhule did.It seemed the talent and depth was falling apart with Bo after the Cally recruits left. How good would Bo have done without a loaded D lead by Suh? Bo was a box coordinator who was always locked up there in his cage bc he was a crazy man. Not a hc and after he left no even half way decent program gave him a shot.

You Rhule apologist are refusing to recognize just how easy our schedule was this year. Pelini played much harder schedules than Rhule and was capable of beating ranked teams (and not just some fringe top 25 teams, but top 10 teams).

Rhule is lucky to be getting a 4th year. Had he been hired directly after Pelini he would have been fired post Cockeye game this year. There will be no soft schedules next year so let’s hope Rhule can put together his best season ever and beat some ranked teams
Not with the talent of his roster his last year. Was getting sketchy and very thin. He couldn’t capitalize in recruiting DL after Suh was a legit heisman contender as DL.Bo was not a great recruiter, but NIL would have helped him. Bo would have won more games this year than Rhule did.
