He probably could have got his brothers to come here too.
Imagine Vance Joseph as DC instead of JoBu...

I went Bo because even though the blowouts sucked. It feels like it was the last time we were competitive and had hope. Seemed more fun and the whole college game was more fun I think. Last time I was super invested in into the sport. Could be an age and responsibility thing too on my end.
I was at the B1G championship game vs Wisconsin.

There was no hope during the last few years of Bo’s tenure.

Yes, Cockeye did get a lot better.

Highlighted years are Cockeye’s record during Bo’s time in Big Ten. So far their best year during Bo’s tenure has been equivalent to their worst year in the 10+ seasons since.

I wouldn't use a team's final record to prove how good they are. Their average FPI in the Bo years was 36. Their average since is 23, so they did get a bit better.

Meanwhile, our average FPI in the same period has gone from 20 in Bo's years to...51 since

If Cockeye got 13 points better and we got 31 points worse, gonna say it's less because they got a lot better, and more because we got a lot worse.

I've not seen one person make that claim
I didn't word it very well, but in this thread someone said that under Rhule today, for the first time in decades, we actually have a foundation, and that Bo was never that close to winning anything meaningful. That's what I was disputing.

Feels like by any objective measure we are much further away from winning anything meaningful today.

I mean, obviously we’ve been worse over the past ten seasons on average than we were with Bo. That’s obvious. But Cockeye has also gotten better and more consistent during that time. It’s both.

I would argue that Bo wouldn’t have been nearly as successful against the recent version of Cockeye which dominates with defense and the running game.

I agree he wouldn't have been as successful as he was 2011-14 (winning 75%). But I think he'd have won about half give or take.

Sad to be daydreaming about how awesome going .500 against Cockeye would be

Big yikes. We’ve had some tough losses but I was soooooo mad watching that game. I actually felt like we had a chance to get the championship going into it. We already beat them, so we were going to beat them again. Then it just all fell apart. Spectacular run by tmagic though.

No one more disappointed than Bo. The word was Arkansas was going to hire him after the game. When it blew up, they gave the job to Fat Bert, the Wisconsin coach.

As of now Bo’s floor is much higher than Rhule’s ceiling

That run was quickly ruined for me when the guy sitting next to me in my girlfriend’s friend’s garage knocked my phone out of my hand while celebrating and the entire screen smashed against the floor. What a night that was.

What’s there to disagree with? Bo’s worst season was 8-4 and he only did that once. Let me know when Rhule matches that.

Oh and Bo beat nine ranked teams. Let me know when Rhule gets his first W.
Completely different eras. Apples to Oranges.
