I think he probably chipped the tooth on the contact with the other player. I doubt it was from the soft punch to the back of the head.

It wasn’t really a soft punch, and if his jaw was relaxed it easily could have shifted his jaw and teeth to clash together. You could be right, but either way he never apologized to the person he attacked from behind.
