We were able to stay on schedule on offense tonight. When you can lean on your run game like that, it opens up a lot of other stuff. Having a QB that is a threat to run and scramble for yards also helps. Having a RB like EJ who can hurt you both running and catching the ball is lethal. OLine has gotten better the last few weeks. Overall we are figuring out some things on the offensive side of the ball. Having players emerge/step up and improve late in the season is something we haven't really seen for.... too long to want to count.
That was the most composed game from a true Frosh QB at NU I have ever seen. Never once seemed rattled. UCLA is not a very good team, but late in the season, on the road in the B1G and it being his first start ever and as a true Frosh.... pretty damn good stuff from Lateef. Having a bonafide "QB controversy/competion" is a good thing, if that's how it works out. Makes both players up their game, and may best man win.
