The 2-6 radio window is a can't lose, especially since 590 AM gave up local radio. 1620 is in a nosedive right now. The new kid in the morning is not very good. I get that Handley and Gary had similar takes, and Handley was probably too professional for 1620, but that morning show is...whew! I really enjoy Gary, but there isn't much added by his cohost. Maybe I'm old, but I don't get the dynamic.
Connor is pretty good. Nothing really negative to say about his show. Josh Oddson adds a lot, he's very good.
The afternoon show is, well, ghey. Too much ghey Pickle Smoochers talk, and Bishop is the biggest crybaby on the planet. If Peterson could stop trying to present himself as better than everyone else because he reads books and runs, it would be fantastic. Not the show, just him presenting himself.
Could go on and on, but I think everyone kind of already knows everything I'm typing.

I had not listened to 1620 for probably like 5 years. I started listening again this football season. Usually don’t make it past the morning show. Gary is great. I don’t mind Matt.
Haven’t really listened to the mid day show much, beyond the one day they talked about our sting operation on Dittman lmao.
USC is a clown show as it always had been. I just don’t think John or Josh really know much about what they talk about. They’re just not very smart. Not ball knowers and not smart in general. Like to spout advanced analytics to make themselves look smart but probably have no idea what said analytics even mean. So the bulk of the show just resorts to doing bits or trying to be funny… but even that falls flat.
The funny thing is, I used to like Josh back when he was the producer. I felt like he really did his homework and came prepared for the on air opportunities he did get. Then he got the co-host job, thought he made it big time, stopped giving a fuck and got stupid.

I stopped listening to the morning show. I prefer listening to DB and Ravi on Hurrdat from 7-10 instead. I don't mind Connor. The 2-4 window is what sucks cuz average Joe sports show doesnt start until 4pm

1) why are the 1620 guys acting like such whiners? It’s perfectly rational for Rhule to call upset about not being able to break the news to his players himself. 100% rational to me.
2) does anyone actually believe Peterson had this information above board? Peterson having the information prior to the OWH, LJS, the athletic, husker online, Husker 247, Pete thamel etc does not pass the smell test. I 100% believe he got the same information that everyone else also knew about; he just crossed the boundary on something that was supposed to be off the record.

The gayest part is Peterson acting like he has some journalist responsibility to break the news. You’re a shock jock on the 2nd time slot for a radio station. You’re not a beat reporter

Really liked Sharp & Benning before he got the gig with the Husker Sports Network. The problem with Matt, Josh and Bishop is that they think they are more clever and funny than they are.

I lost all respect for them around covid and J6. They wanted to spout off on politics. Just STFU and talk about sports. I used to like John Bishop a fair amount but that really soured me, and now this is just dumb. I am not sure what all happened behind the scenes, but can we just keep it behind the scenes and not be whiny little girls on Twitter please?
