Week 10 v USC: Depth Chart, Game Notes, etc

To be fair, Nebraska is a pretty solid team minus terrible pass protection. Metrics can't really account for Nebraska's pass protection because its been historically bad.
And Nebraska manages to move the ball down the field pretty well despite that and also doesn’t give up a lot of sustained drives.

Technically….huskers have already beat a ranked team this year.
IMO, matters far less what the ranking is when you play them, than it does where they end up at seasons end.

.

Yeah I’m with you but the whole bugaboo is “ranked at the time of game.” We best Colorado last year and they finished ranked too.

bad feeling
Every few years you get that feeling of an emotionally devastating and crippling loss. This feels like that.

USC is probably going to sling it around and they can run. Nebraskas offense will need to score on 80% of its possessions to have a chance

I'm excited to watch a game where we don't have only seven offensive possessions because of the Big Ten run the ball and chew clock bullshit. So painful to watch. Skers moneyline

I agree they have a good passing game, but I'm not sure what to make of their rushing game right now. They're down to their 3rd and 4th string backs, who averaged 3.8 ypc combined against ND. Granted ND has a much better run D than Nebraska, but it still seems like it may not be as bad as it originally could have been here if USC were healthy.

All in all tho, this game feels uncomfortable to me. I'm hoping this game is our annual Ohio St game where we seem to inexplicably keep it tight, only this time we pull out the win.

Yea their starting RB is a walk-on so I was like...oh, maybe they won't be able to RTDB all over us. But then I went and looked at his stats and well...you're right about ND but he went for 158 yds and 8.8 YPC against Michigan so that is not giving warm fuzzies

We have to beat PSU, too. They’re not hiring Rhule if we lose to them.
That Nebraska @ Penn St game will be so interesting for so many reasons.

Really curious to see how those PSU fans react to Rhule. Rhule might get booed and chanted against his candidacy by his alma mater lol.

Cant imagine that would feel good.

I liked it a little better when we got booed because we were too good, not when we get booed because they don’t want the stink of our program anywhere near them.

Can someone help me out here?

- We are 6-2 while USC is only 5-2
- We are the home team playing at night
- Coach Rhule is literally asking us to come to the game already blacked out

How do we lose?
“Google me”

-Matt Rhule, referring to his record against ranked opponents
