And winning the special teams battle. Cockeye is actually getting some decent qb play this year which helps. Usually their qb is totally inept.

He’s thrown for 811 yards and 3 tds compared to 4 pics so not lighting the world on fire

He is definitely a step up with the added run game. If we don’t figure out our run defense it will turn into a Mike Riley type blood bath game.

I understand that part and you’re not wrong, he just hasn’t looked very good this year was my only point. But yes he’ll run all over us if the current trend continues. Hell Jeff simms would run all over us if he was their qb this year as well as long as he can catch a snap

Atleast with Sims we could get 4 turnovers. I’m not saying Gronowski is some freak, but he isn’t a steaming pile of shit like they normally have. He is capable qb.

I hate Cockeye but they have the formula to do this: minimize mistakes, play good defense, and special teams. The lack of those were typically why NU’s one-score game record has been abysmal, particularly during the Frost years.

Worth pointing out that while they do a solid job of never shooting themselves, they are notorious for playing the softest freaking schedule year after year.

They are annoying in how competent they are. I give Ferentz a ton of credit for sticking to his guns, and sticking with what works
