Do we make a bowl game

Seriously what is he "building" at that point? Boosters are going to get tight with their wallets and players are going to start heading for the portal.
I absolutely love that Cignetti has proved you don’t need more than a year or two to do a turnaround at a program. Absolutely hated with Frost and now with Rhule people saying we need to give them 4-5 years to show progress.

I said 7-5 after Cincy, and that's probably where we end up.

I stuck with my 9-3 pre season prediction after Cincy.

This is actually the first game that’s gone ‘Off script’ against my picks. It’ll be interesting to see how the team responds, but I don’t like the way the rest of the schedule stacks up after seeing that performance last night.

Northwestern is a game I still think we win, but aside from that? USC and UCLA are both playing pretty good football, Cockeye is as Cockeye always is and we don’t do well with that. Penn State could be in a full on free fall by the time we go to Happy Valley, but I wouldn’t count on it.

The O line was bad last night, and they’re not going to get better without a recruiting cycle (or three) and some transfers in. Don’t know if Spindler can make it back next week with the hand injury, and we’ll lose Pritchett for a portion of next week on the bullshit targeting call, which leaves us with one of the worst performing O line groups I’ve seen at NU. That’s all complicated by Dylan holding onto the ball too long. All I can say is I don’t envy Holgorsen’s job trying to call plays with that setup. He could help himself out a bit by actually trying to run the ball more….if we could block it.

Cig brought a platoon of his own talent. Rhule didn’t bring a single Carolina panther.

Also need to take an honest assessment of what gambling in the portal has gotten us. What’s our hit rate? Not cheap.

Rhule won't get fired. He'll just do a staff reset, ask for more NIL money, and the offseason hype cycle will repeat itself.

He's a year 3 coach that looked like he was in the first season of a rebuild. Last night revealed a program that has no foundation built.

That’s why I laugh at people talking about Matt Campbell, Clark Lea, Chris Klieman and others. These guys don’t have it and probably never will.

Curt Cignetti and Joe McGuire have proved that if you have it, you have it. You don’t need 5 fucking years and the idea of “look what he did at Vanderbilt, think what he could do here” is complete copium bullshit.

Not sure Joey McGuire is in the same realm.

Pritchet will be able to play since it was in the first half, right?

Joey McGuire proved that if you have boosters who will spend $40 million a year, it can hide a lot of coaching deficiencies.

I definitely agree that McGuire and Cignetti aren’t exactly achieving their immediate success the same way. But a good coach figures out how to do it with the situation he’s given. Frankly, I don’t really care how you get me there as long as you get me there.

I think TT might be the best team the Bjg XII has provided in the last 5+ years. Yes, better than recent OU and Texas teams when they were still in the Big XII. TT may lay an egg down the stretch, IDK, but if I’m betting they go into the CFB playoffs undefeated.

It also doesn’t help that a majority of the fan base would rather have a feel good loser as the coach than a proven winner who is rough around the edges and can rub people the wrong way.

If someone gives you a box of success… Don’t return it cause you don’t like the wrapping paper.

I think this can be an 8 win team and I think this can be a 6 win team.
what about a 5 win team

Yes, but who cares?

We are a 7 or 8 win team, happily perched resolutely upon the toilet bowl playing at full strength against a program with multiple pros opting out

Wonder who Team Mom Rhule will fly in this time?
