He's going to regret this week.
He's made a lot of positive steps here (I think he's tried to learn from everything he's experienced at 3 other stops) but this was a huge misstep. I mean he's going on McAfee talking about Penn St and NOT taking himself out of consideration for the job. Embarrassing.
I'll bet it's hit him how bad he fucked this week up. An experienced coach knows you go all Belichik (one word answers) in a situation like this to minimize distractions. You don't go on fucking McAfee and pour gasoline on the fire.
This is the SECOND biggest fuck up Rhule has made since he got here. Jeff Sims is still #1. But this is a close second.
Maybe I watched a different McAfee show with Rhule on it but that was the first time he ever affirmed he was all Nebraska. Right?
Michigan had 7 on us.
Kinda looked like we barely practiced this week with the shitty tackling and terrible offensive gameplan… oh wait
He was extremely pro-Nebraska and insinuating hes gonna be here. He didnt outright say anything definitive tho, which we all know he wouldnt.
But - the need to do so is a distraction from the game in itself. Every player has a phone or a TV, they arent stupid. They see it all. Unless you outright say you arent a candidate or sign a new deal, its gonna linger.
I actually watched the Husker volleyball match on YouTube after I quit watching. They know how to win.

He sneakily did not remove his name. He got cute with his wording so he could try to retain some leverage (I honestly think he's trying to get more NIL commitment from our boosters, that's all).
I checked social media after that McAfee appearance and it was like 90-10 people saying "Did you notice how he stopped short of saying he's not leaving?" His McAfee appearance actually poured more fuel on the fire.
I actually predicted us to lose this game and we probably still lose without it. But I am calling out Rhule for getting cute with it this week and it bit him in the ass.
Well if he is taking the PSU job the team sure played like they know.
Whats crazier is he spent most of the week bitching about the fact it was on a friday. Get over it and play some damn football
Yeah of course it sucks but you can't change it. And I still say giving the team Sunday off and offering them Monday off is more than a little bit weird and has to be part of the issues we had tonight.

He got cute to try to get some leverage among the boosters to get more NIL funding. He took it too far though and made it a distraction.
Dana deserves as much blame as anyone. At this point you know the strengths and weaknesses of your offense. Play to them. He seemed to be ramming a square peg into a round hole all game.
He definitely lost his leverage tonight.
