Fantastic coach when he prepares for one team and if the other coach isn't in his head. He is the kind of coach that at Nebraska would beat 2 top 5 teams, but lose to Northwestern Catholic School for Mormons.

Agreed, People love the idea of Lane because of his persona. I think he's become a better coach over time and can become a great one, but for now he's still mostly popular because of his quips.
And he'd never coach in Lincoln unless he fell on hard times.
