Millard South has 3 scheduled games left, but with Lincoln High forfeiting for this week, all that's left for the Patriots is Omaha Benson and North Platte. North Platte is 1-5 and beat Benson 54-0 so I anticipate Benson canceling as well. The question is will North Platte make the drive to Millard next week or just forfeit and get ready for Lincoln High at home?

What say you?

It sucks that this is the reality of THIS season.

Other classes have huge gaps as well. There aren't a ton of close games week to week.

It's not like Wahoo has any competition in C-1.

Why is Millard south so much better than everyone else? I haven’t lived in Nebraska in about a decade and a half. Does the NSAA have a transfer portal now?

Honestly, there’s no point in playing Millard South at this point. Yeah, in the spirit of competition you’d love to line up and give it a go, but everyone knows you’re getting run off the field by 50 even on your best night. Add in the risk of injuries—or making the current ones worse—and it’s just makes more sense to get healthy and focus on the rest of the schedule. Those are the games you might actually win.

At this point, what’s anyone getting out of it? No reason to get embarrassed just to pad Millard South’s highlight reel.

Open enrollment was allowed a year or two ago and now its just a cesspool.

The most talented players just join one another which has now lead to only 2-3 quality teams throughout Class A.

Full disclosure, I hope they all 3 forfeit to really make NSAA do something. The issue is, NSAA is so soft that they'll just break it into A and A2 or something like that which won't really solve the problem. I hesitate to go there since I don't truly have an answer on how to solve this. They will never close the borders again because it's "not in the students best interest." But there's some really upset parents in District 66 that pay the higher taxes only to see their kid not be able to play for his local team because some kid comes in from another area.

Millard South used the rules to their advantage (or just completely didn't care about others) and assembled the best football team I've ever seen in this state. They have 7 kids committed to FBS schools in just their 2026 class alone. Just an absurd amount of talent.

Youth sports have really gone off the rails, and a lot of it starts with the parents. Don’t get me wrong—there are plenty of great ones who truly want what’s best for their kids. But I know for a fact some have actually tried to sue a head coach because their kid wasn’t getting enough playing time. This was basketball, at a program that’s won multiple state titles, and the reality is the kid just wasn’t good enough to play. But in the parents’ minds, the coach was somehow screwing their kid out of a scholarship—all while he was winning championships.

Wasn’t it parents from Westside who cried to the nsaa about Gretna having a kid who didn’t live it gretna? Can’t play in gretna if you don’t live it gretna for those not aware. I think it’s funny they are now crying because kids from outside of Westside are playing for Westside.

Could they just play a national regular season schedule against better competition, and then still play the nsaa playoffs? Didn’t Gorman do something like that in Nevada?

These games right now are pointless for both parties involved, it also doesnt feel right to tell Millard South ‘you’re too good, cant play with us’
