Outside of that putt on 18, seems like he hasn’t missed a big putt all week

This is a bit revisionist. Both sides were leaning into the usual banter, but at some point it crossed a line. Rory yelled shut the fuck up because they’re yelling “fuck you” when he had addressed the ball. crowd is saying stuff about his wife and kids. Just way beyond the usual back and forth. They increased security, they threw a couple folks out, they were trying to tone the crowd down by the end of the day.

Yeah and master of ceremonies started it at first tee. She told the crowd to yell fuck your Rory. She has since stepped down and apologized to both Rory and PGA Europe. She’s the one who started the whole thing

The MC was an annoying comedian my wife likes, so I made sure she heard about it first thing today.

Yeah some comedian I’ve never heard of. Heather McMahon. She started it all on first tee. Over loudspeakers encouraged crowd to yell fuck you Rory. PGA America received multiple complaints and she “stepped down.”

At some point Justin Thomas stepped in and told crowd to stop because things were getting so out of hand. And when crowd was yelling things at him about his wife and little girl, that crossed a line
 
Can’t believe this is going to come down to a half point due to a I’m pulling out. Since when do you get rewarded for pulling out?!
 
Proposed rule changes for 2027:

-if you don’t put a golfer out there in singles, you LOSE! Don’t reward someone with a half point for pussing out.

-no more “retains cup” make it a playoff on 18, each team sends one man up until someone wins a hole.
