There's a lot of competition from past American captains. Hal Sutton, Corey Pavin, Zach Johnson were all horrible. And who can forget Tom Watson in his second attempt when the team openly criticized him in the post match press conference
All those failures, yet Couples never got a chance, plus Azinger and Stricker were one and done despite their teams doing great
At some point you have to look at the PGA of America and blame them

Having a guy still full time on tour puts us at a huge disadvantage. Need someone removed that can make tough calls (like benching Morikawa/English today)
