I’m sure cigarettei will win again next year, he’s never done anything else.

I'm not saying they will suck, but they will literally have 4 dudes drafted in the top 100, and at least 4 or 5 other starters get drafted:

CB DeAngelo Ponds - 1st rounder
DE Mikail Kamara - 2nd rounder
WR Elijah Sarrat - 2nd rounder
LB - AIden Fisher - 2nd or 3rd rounder

RB - Roman Hemby - mid round
C - Pat Coogan - mid round
RT - Kahlil Benson - mid round
S - Louis Moore - 5th to 6th round
WR - EJ Williams 4th to 6th round

DT - Hosea Wheeler - late round or FA
DE - Kellan Wyatt - late round or FA
Both TEs will be in NFL camps as well.

Will they do ok in the portal? Probably. And they will get Mendoza back unless he turns his elite season into an early draft entrance.

The rest of draft eligible QBs being somewhere between ok and legit ass will probably get Mendoza into the draft

I’d be willing to bet they put a good amount of money into the portal to try to reload & id probably trust Cignetti to choose the right guys more than about anyone else. You don’t pay your HC $8M a year and then not pay up to get him players. Now if Cignetti leaves, I agree they will probably suck.

If he leaves he is gutting the roster on his way out

I'm sure they will do well in the portal. But Cignetti's 2 season success has absolutely been propped up by star players he brought with him from his previous stop.

I thought 7 wins after Cincy and had brief visions of 9 or 10 after the two scrimmages going into UM. I'm stuck somewhere between 7 and 8. USC and PSU will be tough. MSU is no slouch. Maryland feels like a trap. If we won this week, I'll definitely think 8, but I'm sticking with 7 until they prove me wrong.

Just checked and if you take out all of the sacks, we are basically averaging 100 yards rushing a game vs P4 opponents.

Even decent defenses are going to be able to make it hard on the passing game if we don’t get that figured out.

Really hope Holgorsen has some magic for the next stretch.

Cincinatti will finish 7-5
Michigan will finish 10-2 or 11-1.

Nebraska beat a 7 win team by 3 and lost to a team by 3 that will probably play for the Big Ten title. Pretty safe to say that Nebraska is in the middle - 8 or 9 wins.

Realistically, how many more defenses will be see on the level of Michigan?

Penn State and that's it. Cockeye isn't what they normally are. USC may be improved but we'll see how they look over the next 3 weeks (Illinois, Michigan, Notre Dame).

Penn State will be the best.
USC has the best pass rush.
Cockeye will also make things difficult.
Maryland is putting up very good defensive numbers, but has played the collection of the 4 worst offenses of any team in the Big Ten. They still have some things to prove.
Minnesota has a terrific secondary, but not much of a pass rush.

Michigan State and Northwestern have terrible defenses.
Who the hell knows whats up with UCLA.

I hope your right. I think 8 or 9 with a bowl game is definitely on the table.

But MSU, @Maryland, @Minny, USC, @PSU, Cockeye feels like 3 to 4 losses right now.

MSU will tell us a lot.
