The CBS CFB social media guy hates Tom Fornelli (UM/NU related)

Every QB has times when they hold the ball too long and take a sack. Those are called coverage sacks. Even Brady and Manning took those

People who don't know shit about football have really exposed themselves after this game
Also it’s going to happen a lot when the opposing DL is beating the brakes off your OL and getting to the QB only rushing 3-4

Not all those sacks were coverage sacks. Several were Tall OT’s being schooled by quick low-bending DE’s blasting around the edge.

What Tom Fornelli and Bud Elliot have to say about Dylan Raiola is now bordering on a personal vendetta. Its gone beyond fair and reasonable analysis and is now venturing into hatred territory.
It's for clicks. Bud basically live tweeted the whole game dogging on Nebraska. Looking for interaction. He doesn't do that for any other games.

Raiola is through game 4 of year 2. He's averaging nearly 300 yds per game, completing 75% of his throws, and has thrown 11 TDs and 1 INT.

He has limited ability to hurt you with his legs and he held on to the ball too long on a few occasions in the UM game. Ok....

The hate comes purely from the Mahomes mimicry imo. You can't objectively say he's played poorly this year.
This is exactly right.

This team is 3-1 with a power 4 win and a 3 point loss to a top 20 team.

I do not think this team is a top 25 team right now. But the overreaction to this loss by national media towards Raiola is crazy.

If there's any reaction that isn't over the top it should be towards the staff not building this D Line for Big 10 play in their 3rd year and for missing on Pritchett in the portal.

And we keep giving him the clicks.
I’m as guilty of that as anyone.

Bud does seem to go out of his way to shit on Nebraska.

i think it bothers me because Dylan is a good kid, who’s humble. He’s not running his mouth online, or getting into trouble. He’s a QB, emulating the best QB in the game right now.

Go big red

And we keep giving him the clicks.
I'm at a weird place on this. It used to really bother me. For some reason it doesn't anymore.

I'm like, you have to win games to shut these people up. If you don't win, then they'll keep going.

It's like the Biff Poggi comment about how their lines were beating the snot out of our lines. I mean he was 100% accurate, so it's hard to mad at it.

We have everything in place to be a 9-3 program. Only way to shut these people up is show it on the field. If someone wants to take shots at us when we don't, they're not wrong to do so. That's part of swimming with the big fish in the big pond.

I am decommitting from Cover 3 and committing to college football enquirer #godsplan

Dude I used to listen to these guys three days a week but something on their internal data must have started telling them trashing nebraska is good business and its become totally unlistenable for that reason. I will still be listening to the locks pod but they have become significantly less factual my fandom aside.

Highly recommend college football enquirer. Dellenger/Staples/Godfrey is a great combo

He sure hasn't helped his own cause, but I'm not even certain we can firmly state they missed on Pritchett. He played 6 snaps against UM when our LT was objectively the worst performing player on the field.

With the bye week, I would expect some changes up front. They need to figure something out.

If Pritchett didn’t false start at least once per series, he’d probably be our starter.

I sent him a DM yesterday after listening to that saying his assessment that Underwood sees the field better was half assed and careless, and evident that he only is basing it on a surface level watch. He actually responded and we had a somewhat lengthy back and forth (lengthy given the format). I didn’t get him to come off of his opinion but here is why he’s saying those things:

- DR averages only a few yards a pass
- Holgo’s offense is predicated on quick “this or that”
- therefore DR is a one read guy

We basically just agreed to disagree but was surprised he even responded to me after I came out calling him careless. He was most offended by me saying he is basing it off of a passive single watch. Sort of calling his integrity on the topic into question I suppose.

——

For us all, DR sees the field pretty darn well as evident by his completion rate, TD/INT, and yards thrown through basically 3.2 games having sat out a lot against Akron and HCU.

What he does before the snap is uses the pre snap motion to get basic read on man v zone, he checks for numbers advantage and adjusts play side for both run and pass, he moves how the line blocks and where they get help, and from what I’ve heard, we think he has a pretty good pre snap adjustment hit rate. That’s a lot.

After snap he works through progressions which is why we see him check down so much. The RB who chipped is a check down, likely third option.

And going back to adjusting play side… with a pass, I recall a play in Cincy where the play side based on design was going left to right, 1. RB running to flat, 2. TE running stick, 3. Back side slot running slant. Based on pre snap read, DR saw them showing cover 2 zone and pressing, so he flipped his progressions to right to left, 1. Does the corner fall back into cover 3 or stay shallow so I can throw the ball between corner and safety, 2. Slot running slant, 3. TE on stick.

Again, this is heady. He’s not perfect but he understands the game very well. His largest area for improvement is in hitting the deep ball (he overthrows them too much, and likely is why he has stopped throwing them as much this year). And I have a feeling the other area is trusting his WR. That he isn’t taking a risk that they drop the ball in traffic so moves onto his next read too quickly.

Fornelli is a low functioning retard who eats his own shit. Don’t waste your time.

CBS sports is basically the late great Boiler B as a poster when it comes to "major" sports and I never would have heard of Bud Elliot if he hadn't swindled some mooks on here into believing he knows ball

The enquirer when it was Wetzel, Forde, and Dellenger was my favorite. I can only take so much Staples (I listen to Andy and Ari a few times a week) and Godfrey was the reason I stopped listening to split zone duo.

Funny godfrey leaving is the reason I stopped listening to split zone duo. I like him more now, definitely toned down his insufferable side

Staples is nails on a chalkboard to me

Wetzel and Forde make fun of Nebraska all the time. All they do is take shots at us.

They're way worse than the Cover3 guys IMHO. Other than Bud, I haven't felt like the other 2 guys were anti- NU in any way. Apparently they all are now
