If we won this game, we were. That's the point. We're hoping for 10-2/9-3 and now expecting 6-6/7-5 in year 3.yes, its ok to have different opinions and expectations.
We aren't competing with the Top 12, sorry. Win the games you're supposed to
Was he in for Hartzog? He’s one of the 90 on the Rfr and So class and playing so that’s worrying. Many many many plays.
UofM isn't competing with the top 12 either, They have the schedule to sniff it but they aren't one of the best 15 teams in the Country as constructed. If we won this game, we were. That's the point. We're hoping for 10-2/9-3 and now expecting 6-6/7-5 in year 3.

The single most encouraging thing to me is the team did fight even when we were getting kicked in the sack. Years past they would have laid down and it would have been a blowout.7 wins would be a major disappointment, and we are better than that.
8 wins would still be mildly disappointing, even though it is an improvement (by a ways vs too many other years of the past 10).
9 wins should be what we get to, would be "happy" with that but not ecstatic.
10 wins we should ALL be ecstatic with.
I believe we will win 8 or 9 this season. We have some holes - both the O and D line are not good enough and the horses aren't there to get a lot better. We need to win the games we should, and hope to win one we are true underdogs. Ergo, 8 or 9 wins is realistic.
What the hell has Nebraska done the last two decades where 8 wins is a disappointment? you play in one bowl game this decade and then thumb your nose at 8 wins? C'mon man lets be realistic.7 wins would be a major disappointment, and we are better than that.

Yes. The OL played like crap, isn’t that owned by Holgo?Holgersen on just ok? Tell me you don’t know football without telling me you don’t know football.
OL let us down today. His play calling did not.
Delusional.
If we're being honest 7 wins is an extremely realistic outcome. It's potentially the most likely outcome, and if it's not, it's the second most likely.7 wins would be a major disappointment, and we are better than that.

It's pretty obvious the game plan was put together with the idea that our OLine could be at least reasonable at pass blocking. We didn't practice for the OT's to be turnstiles and the interior guys to be lead footed stumps compared to the Biff's Butthole Surfers DT's.Yes. The OL played like crap, isn’t that owned by Holgo?
Can’t cash in the red zone, zero run game today. Didn’t see a great deal done to counter the pass rush.
I’m not saying Holgo has been bad, just that I expected more.

7 is definitely possible. Hell, with this program so is 6 or 5, but I think that is very unlikely. If we stay relatively healthy at the important positions, 7 would be disappointing to me. I am not counting a bowl game in my thought process to get to 7, 8 or 9. I mean regular season. I think we should be better than 7 wins this year. But yeah - that is definitely possible still. Very few B1G games are "easy" and injuries happen. If we're being honest 7 wins is an extremely realistic outcome. The line was 7.5 for a reason
He’s right, but it does seem like he has it out for us

I'd be disappointed with 7 too
Not gonna be gaslit into thinking 7-8 wins is some achievement to be proud of at Nebraska, while I watch Illinois and Indiana win 9-10 again
Tend to agree. With this schedule, 7-5 is a really bad result.8 with this schedule should be the minimum. That lets you lose to Biff's Butthole Surfers, Penn State, USC and one other random loss/Cockeye, and means you didn’t get a surprise win yourself.
8 is just holding serve.
