Not uncommon where I live, but I went to my Dish channel guide last night to set record for the game today on CBS. Of course the local affiliate is overiding our game for the instate FCS teams game. This happens too often.
So now I have to hope I can find a CBS stream that isn't shit. I have the CBS apps on my devices, and on my smart TV. Can't tell yet if the app will let me watch the NU/Mich game or if it will overide to the local broadcast of the instate FCS game. Worst case is tvapp.whateveritis to stream the game, but the quality won't be great and it could buffer or cut out at any time. I don't have cable or fiber to my house in the mountains, so rely on wireless 5G internet, which is decent but not "fast" and can vary by how many people are using the 5G Tmobile network. In other words, no clue if I will get to watch the game live today yet. No ALT channel for the game is showing it on Dish that I can find. The ONLY reason I have Dish is for sports. It's a waste of money as to actually get the stations one wants to actually get all of the sports I want, you need an almost all-in package on Dish. But sports streaming is so sketch, even with good high speed internet, let alone with my Tmobile home internet option, that I have hung on to Dish for many years for that singular reason.
So I won't be in the game thread today, as streaming is usually 5 to 10 secons behind, and don't want to read about plays I haven't seen yet (if I find a stream that works). It's actually better to not be in the game thread anyway, as it distracts from actually watching the game. But man, 2025 and STILL have this kind of shit happening where a nationally televised game may not be available for me.... sucks.
