In awhile?? The Spence fight was the best performance of his career and that was 2 fights ago..
I will say I still really didn’t think he was gonna win yesterday, but age had nothing to do with it.

I didn’t consider Spence the fighter many considered him to be.
Crawford deserves a ton of credit for the physical work he put in and it was obvious he’d done a ton of homework on Alvarez’ style, knew what to do to take advantage of his strengths versus Alvarez’ tendencies and executed. Nearly perfectly. I also didn’t think age would be a factor. Alvarez is 35, 36? It’s not like Bud was ten years older. My concern was really the jump in weight (up one weight class last fight, up two for this one) and Alvarez having fought at that weight many more times. Not only did it not bother Crawford, it actually looked like he benefitted from it.

I agree with mostly all of this. Spence was massively overrated but he was still on a level above mostly everyone bud had ever fought before. You’re exactly right about Crawford doing his homework. He had like 3-4 years to prepare for Spence and he absolutely dismantled him, similar with Canelo. I was mostly only concerned with the size as well, and it didn’t matter at all. Bud was probably stronger than Canelo.

Not sure we can say Spence was overrated, he was sleeping everyone in his path before Bud.
Also Bud had been studying Canelo for about 2 years while Canelo only probably started once this fight was official. Bud was a master of preparation this fight, mix that with the talent and he was always going to surgically pick Canelo apart.
Overall that was a fun fight to watch and the respect and class shown by both after the fight and during the press conference was even better

Every time Camelot landed one he countered.
He also almost died. He was still the 2nd best in the weight class he was only over rated because people were comparing him to Crawford.
Yeah, a message to any boxer thinking about fighting Bud: Under no circumstance should you let him study you for a year or 2 like Canelo did, or even worse 4-5 years like Spence did. He’s too smart for that and it will end badly for you.
Anyone else watch the press conference after where he said Mean machine hit harder? Was interesting

Definitely possible, but feels like Nebraska probably didn't decide to go all fight themed this week without chatting about what next week might look like if he wins.
